Wolfsklamm
Wooden walkways, steps, waterfalls and the path up to St. Georgenberg. Exciting for children if they walk securely on steps and damp wood.
Hinterhornalm and Walderalm
The Alm hike right in the region: from Gnadenwald up to the Hinterhornalm and on to the Walderalm – with a view of the Karwendel and a real refreshment stop. For many of our guests the most beautiful half-day.
Suspension bridge loop Kolsassberg
A leisurely loop with a tingle on the bridge – easy to walk with children, and quickly doable again after rain.
Ruine Rettenberg
Between Kolsass and Kolsassberg the old walls stand right by the path – a short detour that combines well with the suspension bridge loop. Old stories surround the ruin: a farmer is said to have found his lost flock of sheep here and heard a voice that did not mean well with him. It tells better when you are standing in front of it.
Ganalm in the Vomperloch
A lonely Alm in the wild Vomperloch – for days when you do not want to meet anyone. Sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are part of it.

Schloss Tratzberg
Originally furnished rooms, stories from several centuries and a dedicated children’s tour. The Tratzberg-Express makes the way up from the car park to the castle easier.
Schwaz silver mine
The mine train takes you into the mountain. The guided tour shows how silver mining shaped Schwaz and the whole region. Inside it is about 12 degrees all year round – take a jacket.
Swarovski Kristallwelten
Glittering chambers of wonder, a large play tower and the garden with the giant. Come early at the weekend, then it is quieter.

Two destinations for children who want something other than hiking today – easy to combine with the bathing lake next door.

Up to the Blaubergalm
Some Alms smarten themselves up – the Blaubergalm has simply stayed as it is. Up in the Blauberge in the Achental you sit on the wooden bench, inside real cooking is still done, and the Brettljause tastes the way it should after a few hours on a mountain path: original, rustic and honestly good. The Alm is also a rewarding destination by mountain bike or e-bike from Achenwald – pedal up, stop in, roll out.

Kolsassberg Gartlach - tobogganing fun
On the Kolsassberg a wintry tobogganing dream awaits you – you set off directly from the Ferienwohnung Sternenhimmel, tramp through the fresh snow up to the Gartlach toboggan run and then race back down into the valley. The Tux Alps offer varied descents here for young and old, which you can comfortably reach without a car.
Kellerjoch toboggan run – North Tyrol’s longest run
The spectacular toboggan run on the Kellerjoch is a real highlight that you can reach effortlessly from all our Alpine accommodations: whether from the hut, the chalet, the holiday flat or the holiday house – after a short drive you experience tobogganing fun with a panorama for the whole family here.
Vomperberg toboggan run
On the Vomperberg an idyllic natural toboggan run awaits you, which you reach directly from the Ferienhaus Alpenrehblick in the Karwendel mountains. The course is quiet, surrounded by snow-covered forests and ideally suited for short rounds, fast descents and cheerful family contests.
Umlberg and Maria Larch toboggan runs
The toboggan runs on the Umlberg and from Maria Larch make your winter holiday especially varied. First you walk comfortably a short way down to the start, then the fun awaits. Up and down and then back to the Ferienhaus Grafenhäusl, Chalet Tiroler Hütte or Waldhüttl.

On the Vomperberg you leave the Landhaus Alpenrehblick at the Karwendel mountains and after a few steps you are standing right on the perfectly groomed trail. You glide through the white winter landscape – past small huts, through quiet forests and across sunny meadows, with a clear view of the summits of the Karwendel mountains.
In Gnadenwald, too, the cross-country trails are very close: from the cosy huts, the holiday house or the chalet on the Umlberg in Tyrol it is only a few minutes to the entry point. The trails in the Silberregion Karwendel are varied – from flat stretches for leisure skiers to more demanding sections for the sporty.

Wolfsklamm – adventure in the rocky gorge
The Wolfsklamm near Stans is a true natural wonder. On wooden walkways and steps you hike through a wild gorge with thundering waterfalls, emerald-green water and impressive rocks. The hike is an adventure for young and old and leads you up to the rock monastery of St. Georgenberg, the oldest pilgrimage site in Tyrol. Großer Ahornboden – one of the most beautiful places in Tyrol
In the Engtal, in the middle of the Naturpark Karwendel, lies the Großer Ahornboden. Over 2,300 ancient sycamore maples grow here on a huge Alm area – some are already over 600 years old. In spring and autumn the Ahornboden glows in strong colours and offers a unique panorama with the mighty Karwendel summits in the background. The Ahornboden is ideal for leisurely strolls, picnics and as a starting point for hikes to the Engalm or Binsalm.

Planetenlehrpfad Terfens – discovering the solar system playfully
The Planetenlehrpfad Terfens (planet trail) is an exciting themed path for the whole family. Along a level circular route you hike through the Terfner Talwald and discover true-to-scale models of all the planets of our solar system. Information boards vividly explain the special features of the celestial bodies. Along the way you enjoy wonderful views of the Karwendel, the Tux Alps and the Inntal. The pram-friendly path can be walked all year round and is ideal for an educational family outing.
Ganalm – the most rustic Alm in the Karwendel
The Ganalm is a popular destination for a relaxed hike from Umlberg in the Karwendel. From the upper edge of Umlberg, a wide forest road – also passable with an off-road pram – leads through shady forests and across Alm meadows. After about 1.5 hours you reach the rustic Ganalm at 1,190 metres. A small chapel, grazing cows and wonderful peace await you here – ideal for a picnic and a deep breath. The Ganalm is not catered, but offers plenty of space to linger and enjoy nature.

Lamsenspitze (2,508 m)
The Lamsenspitze is one of the most popular summits in the Karwendel and offers an impressive panorama. The ascent is usually made from the Lamsenjochhütte and includes an easy via ferrata (A/B). Sure-footedness and a head for heights are necessary. At the top a wide view over the Karwendel mountains and the surrounding summits awaits you – a real highlight for experienced mountain hikers.
Kellerjoch (2,344 m)
The Kellerjoch is a well-known viewpoint mountain between the Karwendel and the Tux Alps. The ascent from the Loassattel leads over the Kuhmesser and offers great views into the Inntal and of the Zillertal Alps again and again. At the summit the small chapel and an impressive 360° panorama await you.
Gilfert (2,506 m)
The Gilfert is a popular hiking and ski-touring mountain in the Tux Alps, near Kolsassberg. The ascent usually leads from the Weidener Hütte or Innerst across Alm meadows and gentle ridges. At the summit a breathtaking panoramic view of the Karwendel, Zillertal and Tux Alps awaits you – a real highlight for connoisseurs.

The tour to the Badesee Weißlahn is a real highlight for us mountain bikers in the Silberregion Karwendel. On varied tracks we cycle through small villages, over gentle hills and past green meadows. Again and again wonderful views of the Karwendel mountains and the Tux Alps open up.
Depending on mood and fitness, we can extend or shorten the mountain bike tour. Whether we are out sportily or taking it easy – the Badesee Weißlahn is always a rewarding destination for everyone who wants to combine nature, exercise and relaxation.
By mountain bike to Schloss Tratzberg
The mountain bike tour to Schloss Tratzberg is perfect if you want to combine a relaxed round with a bit of culture and plenty of nature. The route takes you on well-built tracks with a light, pleasant climb up to the castle – also ideal for beginners and families. Around 8 kilometres and about 145 metres of ascent keep the tour manageable yet varied.
Along the way inns and cafés invite you to linger. At the castle itself there is a cosy castle inn where you can refresh yourself. So the small climb to Schloss Tratzberg becomes a versatile mountain bike outing that you can shape entirely according to mood, whim and fitness.

The mountain bike tour from the Ganalm via the Walderalm to the Hinterhornalm is a true nature experience in the Karwendel. The Swarovski Kristallwelten are a fascinating experience park for the whole family. In Terfens stands the „Haus steht Kopf“ (upside-down house) – an entire house built completely on its roof. In the Silberbergwerk Schwaz you dive into the exciting world of the miners. On a small train you ride deep into the mountain and experience how silver used to be mined. With the Achenseebahn to the Achensee & hike to the Gaisalm

For children there is a great water playground, beach volleyball courts and plenty of space to romp. There are also shady spots so you can cool off on hot days. The lake is perfect for a relaxed summer day with a view of the Karwendel mountains and offers everything that makes family hearts beat faster.
Achensee – the Tyrolean Sea
The Achensee is the largest lake in Tyrol and a true natural paradise for families. The turquoise-green water invites you to bathe, sail, stand-up paddle and go boating. Around the lake there are child-friendly lidos, playgrounds and many spots for picnicking. The shore paths are perfect for strolls and short hikes with a wonderful view of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains.
