Hochrindl
On the Hochrindl you experience true winter happiness! With 20 kilometres of slopes between snow-covered Alm hillsides you will find wide beginner slopes, sunny pistes and an FIS course for pros. Five T-bar lifts, a connecting lift and a 4-seater chairlift bring you up. The Carinthian piste quality seal guarantees perfectly groomed runs. From the Pietschacher Almhütte you step right into the skiing fun – true ski-in/ski-out in the middle of the Nockberge. Forest runs and cosy places to stop in make it perfect for families and leisure skiers. Season: December to March, daily 9 am to 4 pm.
Turracher Höhe
On the Turracher Höhe, 43 kilometres of slopes await you between 1,400 and 2,205 metres. 15 modern lifts bring you to sunny family runs, sporty slopes and the snow park. The lakes circuit with 12 panoramic kilometres and extras such as a piste butler and sun terraces make the day here unique.
Bad Kleinkirchheim
Bad Kleinkirchheim offers over 100 kilometres of slopes and 24 lifts – wide hillsides, sporty runs, fun slopes and World Cup feeling. Rustic huts and two thermal spas right in the ski area invite you to take a break. Winter fun and recreation in the variety of the Nockberge.

Hochrindl
On the Hochrindl, no fewer than three natural toboggan runs await you – perfect for families, groups or spontaneous tobogganing outings! Especially atmospheric: the 0.5 km long, floodlit run at the Hiasl Zirbenhütte with free timekeeping. From there you can also take the ski and toboggan path to the Herzlhütte or on to the Stoicharthütte – everything is set for fast runner rides and convivial hut stops. Toboggan hire right on site, and after the après-ski a brisk descent is a must!
Turracher Höhe
Here the floodlit natural toboggan run at the Sonnenbahn and the legendary Nocky Flitzer Alpine coaster provide speed and winter fun – during the day or on night tobogganing. Bends, waves, loops and magnificent views make every ride an experience!
Bad Kleinkirchheim
The four-kilometre-long, floodlit toboggan run at the Kaiserburg is a highlight: descending by day and night guarantees fun for young and old. Cosy stops in the huts and sledge hire round off the adventure.
Snowshoe hiking - nature & adventure right outside the hut door
With us on the Hochrindl you experience winter in its quietest and most magical form – away from pistes and cross-country trails, 20 kilometres of cleared winter hiking paths await you. Gently snow-covered slopes, glittering snowfields and deeply snowed-in forests let you discover the Nockberge step by step. Whether the nature panorama trail (13 km), the walk to the Anderle-Kreuz (3 km) or the hut trail to the Herzl Hütte, Hiasl Zirbenhütte and Wugganighütte – you can always stop in comfortably and enjoy regional Schmankalan (delicacies). With snowshoes the experience becomes even more intense: you can hire the equipment directly from the Hochrindl ski school, and guided tours are possible at any time. Please stay on the marked paths and think of our wild animals – your mindfulness helps nature.
On the Turracher Höhe sunny winter hiking paths await by the lake, across the high plateau and through snow-covered stone pine forests. If you like, strap on snowshoes and dive even deeper into the quiet Nockberge nature – including panoramas above 2,000 metres.
Near Bad Kleinkirchheim there are more than 60 km of well-kept winter hiking paths offering views over valleys, forests and as far as the Hohe Tauern. Guided snowshoe tours lead to viewpoints at altitude; rustic huts and thermal relaxation await as a reward.
The most beautiful trails - cross-country skiing in the Nockberge
Right from your accommodation in Hochrindl you set off into the cross-country adventure! On the panoramic high-altitude trails between 1,550 and 1,750 metres you enjoy the view over the glittering Alm landscape. Three trails – the Anderleloipe, the Riaplloipe and the practice trail – invite you to glide gently or skate sportily: from easy to moderate, perfectly groomed and open to everyone. Children ski for free, and the day ticket is available simply via app or at the machine. For beginners the 1 km practice trail is recommended; for advanced skiers the Anderleloipe (3.5 km and 3 km) and the Riaplloipe (5 km) are perfect. After the loop, a hot tea awaits in the parlour – that is pure winter joy!
The Turracher Höhe scores with a total of 18 kilometres of cross-country trails on four glorious routes. Leisurely loops by the lake, sunny sections and the snow-sure high moor offer variety for leisure skiers and athletes. Here you can ski both styles and enjoy the mountain air; the trail network is among the most popular in Austria.
In Bad Kleinkirchheim it is above all the eight-kilometre Römerloipe that delights – groomed for classic and skating, and from December even with artificial snow. Things get sporty on the 2.5 km sports trail and on further routes around Patergassen and Gnesau. For a break, the thermal spa beckons, and trails of all difficulty levels provide plenty of winter fun.

Preber (2,740 m)
The Preber is a striking summit and a true insider tip for experienced mountain hikers. The tour is demanding and leads through varied landscapes, past Alms and clear streams. Zirbitzkogel (2,396 m)
The Zirbitzkogel is one of the best-known summits in Styria and can be reached via various hiking trails. Sagen-Weg Oberwölz (legend trail)
The legend trail around Burg Rothenfels is a lovingly designed circular trail about 3 km long with 10 stations. Larger-than-life wooden sculptures, a faithfully reconstructed woodcutter’s hut and a children’s playground in the shape of a lindworm bring the legend world of the Wölzertal to life. Boards tell exciting stories illustrated by children from Oberwölz. Benches and tables invite you to linger – an ideal experience for families who want to combine nature and imagination.
Wildes Lachtal (wild Lachtal)
The „Wild Lachtal“ is a circular adventure trail around 4 km long at 1,600 to 1,700 metres above sea level. Along the way, 19 varied stations await you: climbing elements, balancing courses, slacklines, motor-skills and water stations, a petting zoo, slides and much more. Eselsberg Alm adventure trail
The Eselsberg Alm adventure trail near St. Peter am Kammersberg takes you to three working Alm huts at the foot of the Greim. Along the circular route you discover adventure stations on Alm farming, plants, animals and water. Children look forward to playgrounds, a water playground and the humming stone. The huts invite you to rest with regional delicacies. The trail is especially family-friendly and conveys knowledge about life on the Alm – ideal for explorers young and old.

Around the Muhrenteich near Murau a relaxed bike tour through the quiet, unspoilt landscape of the Mur valley awaits us. We cycle on mostly surfaced tracks, past green meadows and small ponds that are home to many bird species. The route is almost level and ideal for easy cycling with children, for watching, picnicking and simply switching off. Especially in spring and summer everything glows in rich green and the water mirrors the mountains all around – pure enjoyment of nature for young and old.
Cycling to the Grüner See – an emerald-green adventure near Tragöß
By bike we explore the famous natural jewel Grüner See in Tragöß – one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Styria. On the Lamingtal cycle path we climb gently through colourful flower meadows, always accompanied by a beautiful view of the Hochschwab massif. At the destination the emerald-green water of the Grüner See awaits. After a loop on foot or relaxing on the shore, we roll back at ease.
