The Karwendel range, the silver town of Schwaz and small villages in the Inn valley: between Terfens, Gnadenwald and Kolsassberg stand five of our huts and chalets – rustic or modern, for two or for twelve, with mountain air and a view of the Karwendel ridge. What you can do from there – gorge and alpine pastures, castle and silver mine, a bathing lake, farm shops, winter – is right below, sorted by what you feel like today.

Wolfsklamm
Wooden walkways, steps, waterfalls and the path up to St. Georgenberg. Exciting for children if they walk securely on steps and damp wood.
The Alm hike right in the region: from Gnadenwald up to the Hinterhornalm and on to the Walderalm – with a view of the Karwendel and a real refreshment stop. For many of our guests the most beautiful half-day.
Between Kolsass and Kolsassberg the old walls stand right by the path – a short detour that combines well with the suspension bridge loop. Old stories surround the ruin: a farmer is said to have found his lost flock of sheep here and heard a voice that did not mean well with him. It tells better when you are standing in front of it.
Originally furnished rooms, stories from several centuries and a dedicated children’s tour. The Tratzberg-Express makes the way up from the car park to the castle easier.
The mine train takes you into the mountain. The guided tour shows how silver mining shaped Schwaz and the whole region. Inside it is about 12 degrees all year round – take a jacket.
In two sections up to the panorama over the Inntal – at the top a barbecue area, a chapel and the view as far as the Karwendel await. A good day even for non-summiteers.
Tirol’s largest lake, half an hour away – shore paths, boat trips and a grand mountain backdrop. With the Achenseebahn even the journey there becomes an experience.
Vegetables, fruit, cheese, meat and seasonal specialities directly from producers in the region – in 2026 every Saturday from 8.30 to 11.30 a.m. in Franz-Josef-Straße or on the Stadtplatz in Schwaz.
The Hupfauf family produces multiple award-winning fine brandies at the Purnerhof in Terfens – the finish for a good hut evening. Please enjoy responsibly.
That is a good day in the Silberregion too: wood stove lit, book open, a snack on the table – the hut as a retreat in the mountains. If you like, your hosts will fetch fresh milk from the neighbouring farm; just ask.

The cattle drive, golden larches and quiet trails: in autumn the Silberregion has a programme all of its own – and our huts have free dates.

Some alpine pastures get dressed up – the Blaubergalm has stayed as it is. Our family runs it; up there you will find a snack, a wide view and quiet.

How to reach the Silberregion
TRAIN
Fritzens-Wattens and Terfens-Weer
Regional trains stop in the Inn valley; the Sonnseitn Karwendel is in the village, and for the Waldhuettl and the Grafenhaeusl your hosts pick you up.
CAR
A12, Wattens or Schwaz exit
From the motorway it is 10 to 20 minutes to the hut. For the Grafenhaeusl in winter please use winter tyres – we tell you beforehand.
ON SITE
Regional bus and guest card
Buses run through the Inn valley and to Gnadenwald; with the Silberregion Card the bus and the Kellerjoch cable car cost less.
