Sauna at the hut: what you should know before booking
Only for your group
At all huts here the sauna is exclusively for you – no timetable, no other guests. You heat it up when you want and stay as long as you want.
What a barrel sauna is
A barrel-shaped outdoor sauna made of wood, usually with a wood stove: quick to heat, with a view outside and right next to it the hot pot for cooling down and warming up again. Artlieb and Oberbrixen have both in the garden.
The sauna is part of the hut
At each of these huts the sauna is part of the equipment. What is charged for wood or electricity is listed under services at every hut – clear before booking.

Sauna in summer and after winter sports
A sauna session after a day of hiking and skiing is the best part of a vacation in Austria in the heart of the Austrian Alps. The ski resort and the cross-country skiing trail are close to most of our cabins, the hiking trails start at the door. In summer the sauna in the garden with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains is just as lovely – followed by a barbecue on the terrace.
Space for families and couples
The perfect mountain cabin for a family holiday has space for families: a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area for everyone, a balcony or terrace and two bathrooms. For two, the Kochhäusl in the Tux Alps or the Tiroler Hütte with private hot tub are the cosy choice. Spacious or small – both come with private wellness, never with a waiting room.
