Three self-catering huts we especially recommend today
Every day we show you three different huts from our selection – from the Waldhüttl with its antique wood-fired range to the alpine hut for ten in the Zillertal. You will find all self-catering huts further down.
Self-catering hut: your kitchen, your stove, your pace
You rent a self-catering hut in its entirety – kitchen, parlour, bedrooms and the bench by the door. You shop in the valley or straight from the farm and cook whenever you are hungry. Six things you will find again and again at our huts.
Wood-fired rangeCooking and heating with wood
The Waldhüttl has an antique wood-fired range with a copper kettle, at the Zarze Almhütte the range also heats the water for the shower, and at the Abenteurer-Hütte you cook and heat with wood. Cook more slowly, sit at the table longer.

Huts in Lower Austria →Self-catering huts in the Alps: secluded, high up, with panoramic views
If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is where you find it: renting a mountain hut in Austria with us means fresh air outside the door and days at your own pace. For every hut we note how high and how secluded it lies – here is the overview.
Alpine and remote
The Zarze Almhütte stands entirely on its own at 1,880 m in the Hohe Tauern National Park – you walk the last stretch along a forest and meadow path, a retreat in untouched nature. The Pietschacher Almhütte at 1,700 m in the Nockberge Biosphere Park in Carinthia was built in 1922 and lovingly renovated in 2007; in winter the slope starts right at the hut, so you ski from the front door.
Traditional and sunny
The Artliebhütte, with 420 years of history, and the Oberbrixen Hütte both stand alone at 960 m above Bischofshofen, in the middle of Ski amadé. The Breitberg Alm stands detached at 1,100 m on the Fügenberg, with a wonderful panoramic view of the Zillertal and beds for up to ten. The Abenteurer-Hütte in the Mostviertel lies completely secluded at around 1,000 m.
Restful and varied
The Alpenrehblick in a sunny, secluded spot on the Vomperberg with views to the Tux Alps, the Grafenhäusl, comfortable for up to twelve, at 870 m with a sun terrace and panoramic view, and the Waldhüttl, almost on its own, with a wood stove and solar power. Hiking from the house, cross-country skiing and ski areas nearby – lovely for couples and for families with children.
