Holiday house Austria – what matters to us
If you want to rent a holiday house in Austria, the big portals will show you hundreds of entries. We have six. In return, we have been inside every single one, we have sat at the table with the hosts, and we know what the access road looks like in winter.
Our holiday houses are in Tyrol, in the Salzburg region and in Carinthia. All of them are bookable all year round, all of them have between 100 and 120 square metres, and all of them have room for at least six people. Renting a holiday house in Austria means with us: a whole house for you, no shared wall with the neighbours, no breakfast room with strangers.
How many people fit into our holiday houses?
The largest holiday house takes ten people: the Breitberg Alm in the Zillertal with 100 square metres, five rooms and three bedrooms, and the Grafenhaeusl at the Karwendel nature park with 120 square metres, eight rooms and five bedrooms at 870 metres above sea level.
For medium-sized groups there are the Alpenrehblick at the Karwendel range in Vomp (120 m2, up to 7 people) and the Pietschacher Almhuette on the Hochrindl in Carinthia (100 m2, up to 8 people). For six, the Berghuette Artlieb and the Oberbrixen Huette are enough, both in Bischofshofen in the Salzburg region.
Holiday house in Austria with a sauna
Two of our holiday houses have their own sauna: the Alpenrehblick in the Karwendel nature park and the Pietschacher Almhuette in the Nockberge biosphere park. In total, eleven of our places are marked with a sauna, three more with a hot pot or whirlpool.
Old houses that are still standing
Two of our holiday houses are old enough that you can feel it. The Berghuette Artlieb in Bischofshofen has 420 years of history, the Oberbrixen Huette around 250. Both have stayed liveable rather than becoming museums – with a tiled stove, thick walls and wood that has been dry for a long time.
Getting there and winter access
22 of our places can be reached by train and bus – anyone who wants to travel without a car will find them via the filter "Arrival by train & bus". For the houses at altitude it is worth asking the host in winter whether winter tyres are enough or chains are needed. We say this honestly, because we have driven every access road ourselves.

Is there a holiday house in Austria that takes dogs?
Yes – the Berghuette Artlieb and the Oberbrixen Huette each take up to two dogs. Across all types of accommodation, 14 of our houses are dog-friendly.
Which holiday house suits larger groups?
The Breitberg Alm in the Zillertal and the Grafenhaeusl at the Karwendel nature park have room for up to ten people.
Are the holiday houses bookable in winter as well?
Yes, all six are bookable all year round. 20 of our places are additionally marked as ski and toboggan huts.
What does a holiday house in Austria cost?
The prices are shown directly at each house. They depend on the season, the number of people and the length of stay – which is why we deliberately do not quote a flat rate here.
