The Breitbergalm stands detached at 1,100 m on the Fügenberg, in the middle of the Erste Ferienregion im Zillertal – exclusively for one group of up to ten people, their dog and whatever, among friends, families or ski buddies, simply needs time. Alone, but not remote.
Parlour, conservatory and a table for everyone
The centre of the hut is the parlour with an authentic tiled stove – once fired up, it glows all evening. The large dining table with a bench seats all ten at once, the sofa waits afterwards. The kitchen is compact but fully equipped, with its own wood stove for quick cosiness. The narrow conservatory with large windows is the quiet counterpoint to the lively parlour – with tea, with wine, with a view of the valley.
Three bedrooms for up to ten – plus dog
On the first floor three bedroomsawait: a double room and two four-bed rooms with cosy bed alcoves through which you look straight out at the Zillertal mountains when you wake up. Heating is by electric heaters – so no cold night after a long day of skiing. Your four-legged friend is welcome too, mountain meadows lie right outside the door.
Snow-sure location at the entrance to the Zillertal
From the Fügenberg you set off in minutes into the snow-sure ski areas of the region – from the family Spieljoch via Hochfügen to the year-round Hintertuxer Gletscher. The Erlebnistherme Zillertal is 10 minutes away, the Gerlossteinrodelbahn 15. In summer, hiking trails await right outside the door, the natural bathing pond in Schlitters and the Zillertaler Höhenstraße.
Reachable by car all year round, operated sustainably with green electricity and waste separation , with Tyrolean down-to-earthness between the tiled stove and the mountain meadow. This is what a real alpine hut looks like today.

▼Travelling gently – entirely without a car too
The Breitbergalm lies on the Fügenberg at 1,100 m and is reachable by car all year round. In winter the road is cleared and salted but remains typically mountainous – winter tyres are compulsory, snow chains or four-wheel drive are recommended.

A12 Inntalautobahn to exit Wiesing/Zillertal, then the B169 into the valley towards Schlitters, then up to the Fügenberg.

❄️ Winter tyre obligation
From 1 November to 15 April Winter tyres (M+S). Carry snow chains, four-wheel drive recommended – the mountain road stays mountainous.
For the Austrian motorway you need a digital vignette – best ordered online before you travel.

Valley and mountain on short routes. Down in the valley in Fügen you will find supermarkets, a baker, a cash machine and a pharmacy in 10 minutes, plus the thermal baths and restaurants. On the mountain there are managed alpine huts for a lunch break along the way.

The Breitbergalm is a genuine alpine hut with Tyrolean character: tiled stove in the parlour, wood stove in the kitchen, electric heaters in the bedrooms. Whoever fancies wood-fire romance fires it up themselves – whoever wants it comfortable turns up the electric heater. The electricity is green electricity, waste is separated, cleaning is environmentally friendly. Bed linen is included. Towels and tea towels can be booked in addition.
