Rent an alpine hut – rustic, high up
It stands on the alp, usually on its own and deliberately simple: a wood stove, a wide view, sometimes cows for neighbours. The Breitberg Alm in the Zillertal and the Zarze Almhütte in East Tyrol are self-catering huts – for a hut holiday with no neighbours.

Rent a mountain cabin in Tyrol – at the forest edge, with a trail at the door
It sits on the slope or in a forest clearing, and the walking trail starts at the front door: the Waldhuettl by the Karwendel, the Kochhaeusl in the Tux Alps with a sauna and a large sun terrace. A tiled stove in the parlour, beds for two to four, quiet – the classic holiday hut most people picture. Mountain cabins with us are self-catering.

Chalet – more comfort, a hot tub and a sauna
A timber house with room for families or two couples: the Slow Chalets in Neustift in the Stubai Valley with a jacuzzi and a spa area, the Tiroler Huette for two by the Karwendel with a hot tub under the open sky. A chalet fits if you like your comfort without giving up the mountains.

Railjets and night trains stop in Jenbach, Schwaz and Innsbruck; regional trains carry on to Fritzens, Wattens and Brixlegg. Each hut says whether your hosts pick you up.
