The first thing the children see is usually the Highland cattle. Then the dog Ina comes by, the chickens to say hello – and at some point everyone ends up at the trampoline. At Christina and Jakob's on the Riedhof in Breitenbach am Inn the farm is not a backdrop. It is everyday life, into which you slip for a week.

Christina and Jakob newly built the Zuahaus in 2022 – with old timber from the 16th century. Those are beams that saw snow long before anyone printed the word „Tirol" on a postcard. Inside everything is modern: induction hob, capsule coffee machine, dishwasher. Outside live Highland cattle, chickens, ponies, rabbits. Both work side by side without disturbing each other.

Inside: two bathrooms, two bedrooms, plenty of space

The d'kloane Mühle is on the ground floor and is generously laid out – not an apartment layout with squeezed-in rooms. The double bedroom has beds that can be placed separately, the connecting room „Dinkelzimmer" offers two single beds and its own small bathroom with a rustic stone washbasin. The kitchen is fully equipped, the large living room has a divan with a real sleeping mattress as a fifth sleeping place. WiFi, flat-screen TV, bed linen and towels included.

Outside: a farm to live along with

On the sun terrace the fire bowl awaits for the evenings. In summer Jakob turns a piece of field into a football pitch, the trampoline is already there anyway. When it rains you go down to the games cellar with table tennis and table football. Children may feed the rabbits, watch the work in the stable, see whether the chickens have hidden an egg yet. The farm's own eggs, regional delicacies and a breakfast service on request turn self-catering into something other than self-service stress.

In the middle of the Alpbachtal – with three ski areas within reach

Hiking trails start right outside the door, the Reintalersee is 5 km away. In winter you are in the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal-Wildschönauin 15 minutes, in the Wilder Kaiser-Brixentalin 20, in the Zillertal Arenain 25. Back at the house the ski room with ski boot heating awaits – whoever has once slipped into dry ski boots does not want any other farm. The Schönauer cross-country trail starts 1 km away, the entire 70 km trail network is beginner-friendly.

At the farm live Highland cattle, chickens, ponies, rabbits, ducks, sheep, pigs and cats – plus the dog Ina, who will probably greet you first. Children may feed the rabbits, watch Jakob at work in the barn and visit the laying hens. Adults are amazed at how trusting Highland cattle become when nobody rushes them.
