The Tiroler Hütte measures thirty square metres – and that is its size. At 890 metres, at the forest edge of the Naturpark Karwendel, it is built for two.
You park right outside the door. You walk the few steps across the terrace and open up. Inside, the scent of Swiss stone pine (Zirbenholz) comes towards you, the bed in which you will sleep, a kitchen-living room with two stools and an exposed roof truss. Outside waits what brings everyone here: the whirlpool under the open sky, in which you will sit this evening, pleasantly undisturbed.
Inside: Swiss stone pine, underfloor heating and a bright living room
The hut is newly built – in low-energy construction, with solid wood furniture and an exposed roof truss. The centrepiece is the double bed of Swiss stone pine (Zirbenholz), whose scent regulates sleep (that is not marketing, that is alpine experience). The fully equipped kitchen-living room has both an electric stove and a wood stove – depending on how much campfire romance you want while cooking. The bathroom is modern with a level-access shower, heating is by underfloor heating. Bed linen, towels and tea towels included. WiFi is there, in case you do want to let the world in after all.
Outside: whirlpool, rocking chair and a view of the Karwendel
On the covered terrace waits the real secret of this hut: your private whirlpool, usable all year round – in summer with a starry sky, in winter with driving snow. Next to it a rocking chair, a charcoal barbecue, plus the open view of the Karwendelgebirge. In winter the snowshoe equipment is provided – just strap it on and off into the snowy forest.
In the middle of the Silberregion Karwendel
Outside the hut door begin hiking trails and mountain bike routes. The Umlberg toboggan run is 1 km away, the Kolsassberg ski area 7.7 km, the Kellerjoch with North Tyrol's longest toboggan run 12 km. In summer the Weißlahn bathing lake awaits 5 km away, the Walderalm for the hut hike, the Wolfsklamm Stans for the gorge-damp day. Innsbruck you reach in 25 minutes, Schwaz in 10. Right next door – 100 metres further – you will find the Bauernladl Roanerhof of Daniel with home-made farm products.

The Tiroler Hütte is reachable by car all year round – parking space right at the house. Whoever arrives by train comes as far as Terfens and takes a taxi up the mountain, or walks the last few kilometres.

❄️ Winter tyre obligation
From 1 November to 15 April winter tyres (M+S). Carry snow chains for mountain drives.
