Is the hut really on its own?

Almost. We deliberately say almost secluded – it is very quiet, but not completely cut off. Anyone looking for true solitude will find it on our page of secluded huts.

There are places so quiet that you hear them first. Birds chirp, a deer grazes at the edge of the forest, the wind brushes through the treetops. You drive right up to the hut, turn the key and suddenly stand in a gingerbread cottage (Hexenhäuschen) made of wood – with a hand-painted double bed, a crackling wood stove and a mountain panorama that you no longer let go of over your first coffee on the balcony. Up here, almost in a secluded location at the Naturpark Karwendel, you have a day that belongs to you.

The Waldhüttl is 15 square metres of pure Tyrolean feeling for life. The wood stove heats, cooks and makes the parlour warm in the evening like a shared secret. A small photovoltaic system with a storage battery supplies you with the essentials – light, power bank, the small refrigerator for provisions. Drinking water is ready in two canisters; you can refill it 80 metres below directly at the spring, it does not get fresher than that. The solar shower under the open sky is a little ceremony in itself, the pit toilet a few steps from the door.

Right next door – 100 metres, no more – stands the Bauernladl of the Roanerhof, open around the clock. Eggs, Speck, cheese, jams from your host himself. You take what you need, write it down and go back to the hut. Supply can be that simple.

The Waldhüttl can be booked all year round. In spring, when the first cuckoo calls. In summer, when the hiking boots stand at the door and the hammock calls. In autumn, when the Karwendel glows in gold and rust. In winter, when you step out of the door on snowshoes and the crunching snow is the only sound. Four seasons, one hut – and in each one it is a different promise.

Romance for couples, a hiking base for nature lovers, a retreat for everyone who simply wants to be.

The Waldhüttl is a rustic mountain hut with a small PV system and a storage battery – electricity for light, a power bank and a small refrigerator is there, no more. Heating and cooking are done with the wood stove, showering with the solar shower, the WC is a pit toilet. Drinking water is ready in two canisters – you can refill at the spring 80 m below the hut.
